Sassy magazine, back in the day, used to have a monthly section called Make It in which the reader was given an easy, rockin, cheap craft to make -- from tulle skirts to bookshelves. I ate that column up like it was ice cream. I caught the crafting bug early on. At summer camp, I became the A&C Guru, doing little training sessions for the incoming staff and ordering all the supplies every year. My craftiness has evolved from a wheat-paste-and-newspaper level to a slightly more sophisticated one, but the underlying feeling is still there: it's good to make things with your own two hands. Once I started making things, I'd find myself in stores thinking, "oh man, I could TOTALLY make that," instead of, "oh man, that is SO expensive." Watch out for the devilish craft-bug -- it's catchy.

This is eventually going to be a repository of all sorts of crafty things. Right now, it's pretty empty. It's not that I don't have enough crafts -- I don't have enough time. Also, I often forget to photograph the stages of the project, and pictures make the instructions so much more palatable. So, I'm trying. For now, enjoy what's here.

Please note: All of these instructions, photographs, and ideas are mine. Please give me credit (and send me pictures!) if you work off of these designs. The sale of any items based on these designs is prohibited.
